JOB DESCRIPTION:

Technical

• Analysis of submitted customer samples on Flow Cytometers such as BD Fortessa, BD Symphony A3, BD Canto II, BD Accuri C6, Cytoflex, or other Flow Cytometer

• Cell Sorting of customer samples on a BD ARIA II/II, Sony SH800 or Symphony S6 sorter

• Training of users on self-service flow Cytometers and  optical microscopes

• Provides technical support including by troubleshooting, repairing, and testing of flow cytometers, sorters, and other equipment for cell analysis.

• Perform daily routine equipment calibration and maintenance according to established SOPs

• Perform data analysis for researchers using specialized data analysis software

Customer Support

• Serve as primary point of contact to customers

• Provide education and training, to core facility users/customers in cytometry and  optical microscopy

• Coordinate sample receipt from customers and data delivery

• Coordinate delivery of samples to other ICBR Cores for further analysis

• Assist with preparing and updating SOPs

Laboratory Management and Safety

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety and other institutional and governmental regulations.

• Monitor and maintain laboratory supply inventory.

• Clean/autoclave lab glassware, supplies and biohazardous trash

Other duties as directed

 

EXPECTED SALARY:

$50,000 - $53,000, commensurate with education and experience

 

MINIMUM REQUIRIMENTS:

MS required or 5 years science related, core specific advanced training and work experience and/or post-graduate coursework. Requires at least 3 years in core facility specific applications and at least 2 years of that in research-based technology. Work experience in multi-user core facility preferred. Core or technology specific licensure and/or certifications where applicable. Additionally yearly certificate and compliance training if required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The preferred applicant will have an MS in Biomedical Sciences, Cell Biology or related field with 2 years experience in research laboratory using flow and FACS technologies and confocal microscopy. Experience using Crosslab shared resource management software and FlowJo software preferred.  Specific training or experience working with nanoparticles, exosomes and Nanosight.
