On the contrary, I would suggest that it is in the process of "trying to align
morphologic descriptions with specific immunophenotypes" that we make progress
in sorting out which morphologies and which immunophenotypes actually define
true pathological entities.

Granted, we may do ourselves and our clinical colleagues a disservice if we
"invent" new diseases solely upon the merit of immunologic variations...but
the efforts to correlate these various criteria (morphologic, immunologic,
genetic, and clinical) clearly result in the recognition and better
understanding of specific disease entities.
