Our VA hospital is considering purchase of a new image analysis
system. Is anyone using (or heard of) the Optimus Image
Analysis system? Has anyone used the DNA ploidy package?
How does it compare to other ploidy packages in terms of ease
of use, utility, format for reporting etc. in a clinical
environment? What about the immunochemistry package...can
you use any probe you wish or is it specific to certain
biomarkers....and what about the chromagen---is this the user's
choice? Is the technical support adequate? How reliable is the
instrument? How quickly are repairs made in the event of
failure? (You know the regular questions one would have when
considering purchase of an instrument.)
Does the instrument require programming by the user in order to
perform tasks? If yes is this difficult for non-programmers? Is
anyone using this system for fluorescence assays? Candid
opinions concerning the usefulness, value, service, and user
support are greatly appreciated.
Any information you may have would be helpful. Thank you.
