The director of the National Science Foundation, Dr. Rita Colwell visited Purdue University recently and had the opportunity to review the BioScope Initiative, an NSF funded K-12 educational program to develop high quality biology materials.
The BioScope Initiative is a program within the School of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue University. It is part of the Purdue University Cytometry Laboratories (PUCL). The director of the PUCL facility, Professor J. Paul Robinson is the pricipal investigator of the NSF program. Professor Robinson wrote the grant together with Mr. Marshall Overley, a science teacher at West Lafayette Junior/Senior High School, in West Lafayette, Indiana.
