This is a small remark to the good explanations given by Calman Prussin
about CyChrome & PerCP. I only would like to point out that CyChrome (from
Pharmingen) is a little bit different to Tricolor (i.e. from Caltag) and others:

CyChrome is a tandem PE-APC

Tricolor is a tandem PE-Cy5.

There espectra are similar but, in my hands they work different depending on
the cytometer you are using. CyChrome works really fine on FACStar and
FACScan cytometers. However, is hardly to see positive events when you are
using an EPICS ELITE (675nm bp). On the contrary, Tricolor works find on the
EPICS with the same settings, and very easy to compensate. I haven't try
Tricolor on FACS ones.
