[Q] use FISH for HIV?

Greetings to all list members. I've been reading the list for
several months. My background is analytical chemistry--laser
spectroscopy at Iowa State to be specific. A lot of the
instrumental parts of flow cytometry are close to home for me.

Although the biological and clinical aspects are somewhat new
territory for me, I do have a colleague at the University of
Nebraska Med Center doing flow work. She has a question I'm
passing on to the list.

We've seen a bit of discussion of FISH and are considering
trying to use this technique to identify human cells containing
HIV-1 mRNA. Does anyone on the list have any experience with
this in either a research or clinical setting? Replies either
to the list or by e-mail would be most appreciated. Also, are
there are other forums I could use to find information?

Thanks in advance,

Ted
