Greetings,

Steve Hilliard inquired about getting the sort stream lined up correctly on
the auto-cloner of his Coulter EPICS 753. We use the same auto-cloner on a
regular basis. The first thing that comes to mind, assuming you have
left-right control for normal "bulk" sorts, is that maybe you forgot to
plug in all three wiring harnesses at the back of the cloner. One of those
plug-ins goes to the right-left control pot that you described. If it is
left unplugged, you wind up with no control over the right-left postioning
of the center stream. If everything is plugged in, then check the solder
connections at the pot. I broke one once while hooking up the nitrogen and
vacuum lines with the same result. There are other possibilities like
blown fuses in the sort control module that is housed in the lower left
pedestal of the optical bench, but this would have already shown up as a
problem in your "bulk" sorts. Our cloner has been trouble free for 8
years, so I suspect that the problem is a simple one. Good luck. Please
feel free to contact me if you still have problems.
