The effect of DNA damaging agents on the cell cycle can be monitored by flow cytometry. Here, a fibroblast cells line was exposed to an alkylating agent that can be seen to cause cells to arrest in S phase . With time and exposure to lower growth temperature, DNA damage is repaired and cells revert to normal asychronous growth.
