I would like to post a question resulting out of the discussion on this
mailing list about background of flow cytometric analyses held in
October/November 95, I think.
Many, partially contradicting, opinions have been expressed by fellow
"flowers" about the most appropriate and scientific method of background
measurement and subtraction. My knowledge about flow cytometry is far too
little for an accurate assesment of one "standard" or most
respected/accepted method dealing with this issue out of your postings.
Therefore I would like to ask, if there is any consensus or most accepted
method in displaying/calculating e.g. positive cells regarding the problems
with the background or isotypic control. This "consensus" seems very
important to me in regard to straight comparison of publications displaying
flow cytometric analyses and findings.
Any replys are welcomed.
