At the time of the 3rd Bovine Leukocyte Antigen Workshop (Davis, Ca 1995)
there were no characterized mAbs to bovine VCAM-1, ICAM-1 or ELAM-1. Many of
the mAbs submitted to the 5th and 6th Human Workshops were also tested and
most were negative on bovine cells. We have some data suggesting that one or
two human VCAM-1 mAbs may cross-react. Trypsin will damage some proteins so
we routinely use cell dissociation fluid (non-enzymatic, Sigma) but cannot
guarantee that this will not affect the molecules you are interested in.
