SAIC Frederick has a position for a Research Associate as a FACS Operator
working with the Laboratories of Leukocyte Biology and Experimental
Immunology, DBS, NCI. Primary responsibilities will include flow cytometer
operation and maintenance. Analysis and sorting using 2 and 3 color
cytometry and use of multiple lasers is required. Sorting of individual
cells, including sperm, and preparation of cells, including washes,
staining, etc. will be necessary. The individual will be required to order
all necessary reagents for these tasks. Additional duties requiring the
FACS may arise during the course of employment and the individual must be
aware that training relating to such needs within the laboratory and
implementation of these techniques is essential for employment by the
laboratory.

Additional duties will include DNA preparation, testing primer pairs, gel
electrophoresis, interpretation of data, and data entry onto the Network.
It is possible that other molecular biological techniques will be required
at times, but the individual will be trained within the laboratory
accordingly and is not expected to know such techniques prior to such needs.
The individual will be expected to keep data organized and may be required
to perform basic analyses of the data.

SAIC Frederick is located in Frederick, Maryland at the National Cancer
Institute-Frederick Cancer Research & Development Center.
