Response to separating sub-compartments in the cell cycle.....
Two words...acridine orange. The best way to do what you want, and probably
the only way. Sure, some proliferation markers will prove to be cycle-
compartment specific, but not enough for your purposes, and these still
have to be validated. AO, on the other hand, has been a valid method
for years. Go to the library, and search on Darzynkiewicz for the master.
And...don't let people terrorize you with claims that AO stains your
flow system. Change your tubing!
