Calcium measurements with Argon Laser

Hi Everyone,
Is anyone doing Calcium flux measurements with a single color argon
laser? If so, what dyes are being used, what is your experience, and
what are the pitfalls. Is there any way around the transient problem
and the fact that the cytometer collects data in a manner that does
not necessarily have a time tag on each and every cell.

Are there new dyes out there?
Are there problems with permeablization?
Can one do simultaneous surface labeling and Calcium flux?
Any good references which give practical advice?
