Platelet activation

Dear All,
I have a query to put to the list for a concensus opinion, if one exists
that is !
I'm sure Vince Shankey will answer this one - but I've lost his address..
A colleague from another hospital is asking me to quantitate IN VIVO activated
platelets in a particular infection.
I have two questions.
1) Can this be simply done by flow cytometry in the opinion of those involved in
"activated platelets".
I know a lot of work has been done on IN VITRO activation but I don't know about
circulatory activation.
2) What is the concensus on the best antibody - CD62P, CD63 or none of the
above.
Thanks
