Short Summary
This book is the third edition of a flow cytometry
classic. The current edition is very comprehensive and is
useful to all scientists who are contemplating entering or
are currently using flow cytometry. The value of the book is
in the detailed background that accompanies each component
of flow cytometry instrumentation. The current edition
contains about 500 pages in 12 chapters and is well indexed.
A good deal of the book provides a considerable expansion
of the information in the 2nd Edition. This edition is tremendously
detailed and an absolute must for anyone serious about flow cytometry.
It is a graduate students' necessity, and makes an excellent basis for
teaching the general topic of flow cytometry. If you are interested in
the history of flow cytometry, this edition is really interesting - almost as
exciting as a Tom Clancy novel (Howard's next book....)!
If you ever had to make a choice of a single book for your library (which
of course you just couldn't do) you would probably be advised to start
with this book.
